Barefoot in Sri Lanka, 20'

Every step without shoes is an advantage. Every step with shoes is a disadvantage.
— Nunu Jobe

Three men from different continents, bound by their shared love of Nature, come together to walk in the Sri Lankan jungle.

Stepping barefoot into different habitats, they journey, exchange stories, learn from their unique personal histories and reflect on the positive benefits to health and life of experiencing the pristine beauty of the natural world.

In a time where there is global attention on the crisis of climate change and environmental damage, this film explores what our ancestors have known for centuries and recent scientific studies are proving - that Nature itself has a therapeutic power.

We are currently seeking completion funding/ commission / brand partnership / distribution.

Please get in touch if you wish to support this important film.

I had done my prep and trained my feet as best I could, but the 2nd and 3rd days there were hard and I wasn’t sure I could continue through the week

THE THERAPEUTIC POWER OF NATURE

Even a 20 minute immersion into Nature has powerful healing effects, to the point that "Nature pills" are starting to be prescribed as low cost interventions for mental health issues like stress, with significant success.

Important for all the characters is to walk in Nature without any shoes or other footwear. Walking barefoot is the ultimate way to connect to the Earth and also has many health benefits.

This is the first short form episode of an original documentary series exploring the health benefits of being in Nature and walking barefoot.

Messages from Jon Kwan and George Monkhouse

This current situation in which we all find ourselves is a challenging time but one of great opportunity for reflection. We have all been forced as individuals and as a society to slow down.

To pause.

What comes next is up to all of us to create together.

The creative industries have been hardest hit by this pandemic. Most projects have been postponed or cancelled.

Film, music and the stories we tell and receive now and in the immediate future will be crucial in helping to inspire and shape the world after this unusual period in human history.

We are asking for support for our unique film project that takes people on a immersive journey into Nature and invites us to explore important questions about nataure, how we relate to it, and how it supports our well being.

This film will be inspiring for people to watch, and reconnect people with Nature, especially important after this lock down period, using imagery from the beautiful Sri Lankan Nature.

Using this time of lock down, we are looking to raise funds for the next stage of post-production. this will empower us to launch straight into the next phase and get the film out there as soon as possible.

We appreciate any support at all at this crucial time, please get in touch if you able to help manifest this film
